2023

• December 15th, 2023 - A full paper on measuring and optimizing fairness in grid layout got accepted at ECIR 2024.

• September 18th-20th, 2023 - Virtually attended RecSys 2023 as one of the Student Volunteer Chair.

• September 5th, 2023- Joined Microsoft as an Applied Scientist.

• July 5th, 2023- Succesfully defended my PhD. I am a Doctor now!

• Dec 13th, 2023- A short paper on the patterns of gender-specilizing query reformulation got accepted at SIGIR 2023. This is an outcome of my work durning my internship at Microsoft. I got the opportunity to collaborate with Bhaskar Mirtra, Nick Craswell, and Michael Ekstrand.

• Mar 18th-Mar 23rd, 2023- Attended CHIIR 2023 as co-author of the paper.

• Feb 2023- PC member of ACM FAccT conference FAccT 2023.

• Jan 20th, 2023- I gave a talk on my work on fair ranking metrics at the monthly meetup series of Information Retrieval Lab at the University of Amsterdam called Search Engines Amsterdam SEA.

2022

• Dec 13th, 2022- A research paper on the use of gender in the information access research got accepted at CHIIR 2023. This is a collaboration with Christine Pinney, Dr. Alex Hanna, and Dr. Michael Ekstrand.

• Dec 13th, 2022- Passed PhD proposal defense.

• Nov 2023- PC member of workshop on Algorithmic Bias in Search and Recommendation (Bias 2023)BIAS at ECIR 2023.

• Nov 14th-Nov 15th, 2022- Attended TREC 2022 as the co-organizer of Fair Ranking Track.

• Oct 2022- PC member of Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics on the Web track of WebConf 2023.

• Sept 23rd, 2022- Co-organized 5th FAccTRec Workshop: Responsible Recommendation at 16th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems (RecSys 2022).
